Welcome Home

On tuesday we left an hour and  half early from work so we could get up to the Salt Lake Airport to see one of Hunter's favorite mission companions, Elder Huntsman, come home from Detroit :) We Got to the airport at about 4:15 when his plane was suppose to land. But we were in the wrong terminal so we saw a ton of other missionaries greet their families. After calling his dad we found them and talked for a long time and then his parents invited us to go to their house up in Layton, then to their stake center to see him get released and then out to dinner. It was such an amazing experience being there and hearing all the different stories of their mission while they were companions. They went through a lot together since Elder Huntsman was hit by a car while Hunter was his companion. So before he was release the Stake president asked Hunter to tell us what exactly happened. So Hunter told the story and it was spiritual moment for everyone in the room. Knowing that God watches over his missionaries and that He is the reason why the accident wasn't worse and that he only walked away with a few scrapes and bruises.

Right before he was released the first thing he did was get on his dirt bike.. of course. :) Now Hunter will probably bring it up casually to beg me to let him get one.. maybe one day!

After he was released we went to Texas Roadhouse... It was soo good!! It was an entertaining dinner when the waiter brought me a refill for my drink and I thought there was a piece of lettuce in it so I looked at the cup and in bright green permanent marker it said "poop" on the side. Everyone on the table was laughing and when the waiter came back he asked if there was something wrong with my drink cause he noticed we were all looking at it weird. So we showed him and he laughed and apologized and said that was embarrassing.

It was such a fun night meeting new people and seeing two friends reunite and tell stories :) It was worth the really long day!

Welcome Home!!

Winners

Last night Hunter and I went to our work party in high hopes of winning something from the raffle they were doing... but did we win anything?

Yes we sure did! We won the Xbox 360 with kinect. We were really excited that we won something even though we are selling it cause we probably wouldn't play it that often and would rather have the money to save :)

The Proposal

Warning: Extremely LONG post! (but its worth the read)

Before I tell the proposal story I will go into a little detail about some issues we had in getting my wedding ring. Hunter started making payments in it in early October and they had to send it to New York and then over seas to get some alterations that I wanted on it. They could have done it themselves in store but they decided it would be best to send it over seas to be altered, which was fine cause they said it shouldn't take too get it done. But weeks and weeks went by and we never received a call on the ring and my mom wouldn't let me do any plans for the wedding unless we got engaged. So I started getting stressed out on wedding planning. After Hunter called many times they told us that my ring was LOST over seas and they had no idea where it was. They called the wearhouse in New York and they didn't know where it was and had known for a month that it was lost. So they said it would take a few months for them to make another one and do the alterations. We were furious. I got over it and knew that it would happen when it was suppose to, I was just upset at not being able to make any plans for the wedding. We found this out just the day before Hunter proposed..... now on with the proposal story :)

On November 30, 2010 Hunter was texting me asking if I wanted to go to temple square that night. Of course I said yes because we had been planning on going for a long time since I had only seen the lights there maybe three or four times in my life. I was really excited since I hadn't seen the lights very many times. We left up to Salt Lake and once we got there we decided to stop and have dinner at Wendy's. We went in and ordered our food and I went and sat down... and I wish I would have chosen a different spot. There were about six homeless men who were all drunk. It was a lovely experience when Hunter walked up to get our food and one of them started talking about how they wanted to shoot Hunter's face off because he looked at him. He continued to say stuff like he had a gun and would beat him up or kill him if he looked at him again. I felt sick to my stomach and just wanted to leave. Hunter finally came and sat down next to me and the homeless man struck up a conversation with Hunter asking what his problem was. Hunter obviously wasn't scared at all like I was considering he spent his two year mission in Detroit where he had a gun pointed at his face among other things.. so these guys were nothing compared to what Hunter is use to dealing with. Hunter was really nice and not scared at all but they guy was still mad and threatening him. Once the homeless men got their food they left us alone for a little while and then one of the homeless mans friends came up to us and apologized and said he had a lot to drink and they were trying to get some coffee in him so he would calm down. He said they would try and control him and he should be swearing in front of a lady. I hurried and ate as fast as I could so we could leave and go to temple square. As we were leaving Hunter went up and ordered a bowl of chili and had one of the workers deliver it to the homeless man. (Hunter is always doing nice things like that for people.. he is the greatest.) The workers were really scared to take it to them because he was really rude to them too. But we left and watched them deliver it to him.

Finally we arrived to temple square and walked around for a bit.. Hunter said that he had to go to the bathroom so we walked over to the bathroom and I waited for him and when he came out He kept his hand in the left pocket of his coat the whole time and I kept walking on his left side trying to stick my hand in his pocket to hold his hand. He kept switching to the other side of me and I kept going back to his left pocket trying to hold his hand, but I didn't expect anything of it. We walked around for a little while and then he said lets get closer to it... so we walked closer to the temple and went up to the top of the stairs and just stood there talking for a few minutes, then I turned around to walk down the stairs and Hunter said, "Kelli..." so I turned around and there he was on one knee with the ring box in hand.. the first thing I said..."You Liar!!" cause I thought for sure he had lied about what happened with the ring getting lost. So then he said a couple things that made me feel like crying and said "Kelli, will you marry me.." and of course I said yes. Then he hugged  and decided to leave then. We left drove home and were both really excited texting everyone and telling them. I wouldn't have wanted him to propose in any other way.

After he proposed it was so funny talking about why he went to the bathroom... to get the ring out of the pocket on the inside of his coat and put it in the left pocket of his coat that I kept putting my hand in trying to hold his hand. He thought I felt the ring box and thought I knew he was Planning on proposing the  whole night. But I had no idea :)
